HARTFORD CITY, IN—
Waylan Dean Walker, age 25, died early Saturday morning, March 20, 2021 at IUHealth Blackford Hospital emergency room. Initial autopsy findings indicated he had an internal brain bleed, not caused by trauma.
Waylan was born in Muncie on June 13, 1995 to Merri (Bash) and Wesley Walker. He excelled in construction, as he liked building things. Fishing was a favorite hobby of his, but was especially known for being the attentive uncle to his nephews. Besides playing in the snow with them, because nobody else liked the cold, he’d play X-box with the nephews (Grand Theft Auto), with the volume turned down and ‘nobody allowed to shoot anybody’; and in his nephew’s head, Uncle Dean’s saying: “Batman is better than Captain America” Uncle Dean loved picking on Noah…called him “turd”.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother: Merri Bright of Hartford City, his father, Wesley Walker of Portland; one son, Hunter Walker; his sister: Rebecca Walker and two beloved nephews, Noah Parker and Eli.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at the Waters Funeral Home 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City. Cremation will follow.
