Thelma P. Harter, 76, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2016 at her residence. Her goal in life was to raise her child and help with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was born in Hartford City on July 20, 1939 to John and Mary (Coons) Adkins and attended Hartford City schools.
Thelma married Larry Harter in Hartford City on October 16, 1954 and he survives.
Thelma attended the Calvary Pentecostal Church and the Apostolic Tabernacle. She had worked at Dacra Glass for several years.
Survivors include her husband, Larry, a daughter, Mary (Bob) Carney, three grandchildren, Brantley Harter, Heather Futrell and Davina Miller and two great-grandchildren, Bryanna Futrell and Brendon Futrell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Ed Adkins, Billy Adkins, Marvin Adkins and George Adkins, Sr. and by sisters, Dorothy Studebaker, Lois Whitehurst, Irene Moorman, Alpha Hunt, Ethel Mae Slentz and Elizabeth Norton.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery.
