TOMMY KNIGHT Obituary
Tommy R. Knight, 65, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at his residence.
He was born May 30, 1947 in Decatur, Indiana, the son of Thomas A. Knight, Jr. and Elda L. (McKibben) Knight. Tommy graduated from Hartford City High School in 1965. He married Ruby Roberts on September 10, 1983 in Hartford City.
Tommy was a veteran of the U. S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
He had been a salesman for National Life Insurance Company (now American General). He retired in 2009 from Manor Care Nursing Home, Anderson, where he worked as a janitor.
Tommy was a member of Amvets Post 23, Hartford City.
Survivors include: his wife, Ruby; four children, T.R. (Angie) Knight, Upland, Barbie Coronato (companion, Kenny Reynolds), Alicia (Justin) Golden and Christopher Knight (companion, Jessica Hayworth), all of Hartford City; two sisters, Dixie (Jerry) Summerlot and Nancy (Monte) Hedden, both of Hartford City; five grandchildren, twins, Emily and Rachel Knight, Toby and Bryce Street, and Matthew Knight.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas A. Knight, Jr. and mother, Elda L. Roberts.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 30 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City with Pastor Chris Neel officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 – 4 p.m. Sunday, July 29.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
