Roy McDaniels

HARTFORD CITY, IN

Roy E. McDaniels, 83, passed away early Friday morning, May 16, 2025, in the comforts of his own home.

Born on Thursday, August 7, 1941 in Hartford City, he was one of three children of the now late Roy and Rachel (Bicknell) McDaniels and was a 1959 graduate of Jefferson High School in Grant County.

Roy married Mary Ann (Denton) in Hartford City on June 29, 1996 and also retired from the 3M Company of Hartford City that same year.   Roy retired as a supervisor there after 37 years.

Roy was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.   No one had more love for dogs than Roy.  He also loved to travel and see nature. 

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Mary Ann and his children:  Tim (Beth) McDaniels, Kelly Ratliff, Roy Eric (Kathy) McDaniels and Cory (Jenifer) McDaniels and two step-children:  Wendy (Kevin) O’Rourke and Rich (Maria) Hill.  He also will be missed by his sister, Charlotte (Tom) Packard, fourteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, his brother, Steven precedes him in death.

Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 21st at Waters Funeral Home, Hartford City, with Pastor Roger Spitler and Roy’s step-son, Rich Hill presiding.  Burial will follow at Eaton Union Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
