Richie L. Nuckols

HARTFORD CITY, IN Richie L. Nuckols, 63, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 15, 2010 at his residence. The son of Everett and Ruth (Hatch) Nuckols, he was born March 21, 1947 in Portland. He graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1965 and then served in the Army. Richie worked at 3-M and retired from Borg Warner after over 30 years of employment, and was the former owner of the Scotch Mist Restaurant. He was a member of Blackford Lodge #106 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Shrine Club, Elks Lodge #625, Amvets Post #23 and was a life member of the American Legion Post #159. Surviving are: 3 sons, Richie Ty (Chriss) Nuckols, Matthew Nuckols and Marcus Nuckols; a daughter, Cynthia (Jayson)Lytle; 3 sisters, Karen McDaniels, Judy (Lee) Dobbels and Lenora Faine; 8 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Regina (Batten) Nuckols and his parents. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 19 in the Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Cemetery, Pennville. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 18 and one hour prior to services on Wednesday. Masonic services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be sent to the Shriners Hospitals for Children with envelopes available at the funeral home.
