Richard L. “Rick” Cain
HARTFORD CITY, IN—
Richard L. “Rick” Cain, 66, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022 in IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie.
Born on November 21, 1955 in Hartford City, he was the oldest of six children born to Richard L. and Betty (Hendricks) Cain, Sr.
Rick was a 1974 graduate of Blackford High School and served his country in the United States Army. Rick enjoyed family time above all and also enjoyed boating, cars, reading and history. His favorite sport to watch was NHL hockey.
He leaves behind his wife, Jeannie (Fry) Cain, to whom he married April 20, 1979 in Hartford City; one daughter, Dana (Jason) Haynes; three grandchildren: Kendra Haynes, Gavin Haynes and Karleigh Miller. Two brothers: Gary (Judy) Cain and Jim (Maria) Cain; three sisters: Deb Anderson, Sherry McCammon and Kathy (Allan) Noyes and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Jo Ann (Joe) Long.
Preceded in death by his son, Rory on Sept. 15, 2018, his parents and his brother-in-law, Jack Fry.
Services are at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 18, 2022 in Waters Funeral Home, Hartford City, with Rev. Glenn Greiner presiding. Burial is at Hartford City Cemetery with military rites conducted by the U.S. Army and the Delaware County Veterans Organization.
Visitation will be from 11:00 – 1:00 Tuesday at the funeral home.
