Richard L. Williams, 78, passed away Friday, October 28, 2016 at his residence.
He was born in Hartford City on May 14, 1938, the son of Roscoe and Alice (Dewey) Williams. On September 14, 1962, he married Phyllis Morris.
He was a truck driver for Roadway for many years.
Dick was an avid sports fan - loved his Colts, Pacers, Cubbies and Jeff Gordon. He was the center of attention at all family gatherings, always good for many laughs, loved his family, laughing and spending quality time with all.
Surviving are his children: Dennis (Catherine) Decker, Cindy (Ernie) Arvette, Vicky Reed, Richard (Lisa) Williams, Jon (Katie) Lugar, Terry (Felicia) Williams, Cheryl (Dan) Latham and Debbie (Ken) Mcelroy; eleven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, a sister, Judy (Richard) Hickey, and a special friend, Carolyn Stover.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Phyllis and a brother, Gene Williams.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2016, in the Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City with Pastor Kevin Lex officiating. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery.
Friends may call at Waters Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2 and from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.
