Richard C. "Dick" Daniel, 86, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at his home.
He was born in Bellevue, Kentucky on August 23, 1930 to Durward and Norma (Yeager) Daniel. Dick
graduated from Bellevue High School and received his Associate Degree from University of Cincinnati.
Dick married Loretta Bachner on April 11, 1953 in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania. He worked as a supervisor at St. Joe Container retiring in 1996.
He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, American Legion Post 159, and former member of Elks, Moose and Amvets. Dick helped organize Pee Wee Football, coached Little League and Babe Ruth baseball teams and volunteered at high school athletic events.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta; three sons, Marty (Jan) Daniel, Hartford City, Mike (Cindy) Daniel, Montpelier, and Matthew (Rose) Daniel, South Bend; one daughter, Mary (Brian) West, Dunkirk; three sisters, Alice (Earl) Jennings, Cold Springs, KY, Norma Link, Mason, OH, and Estelle (Arthur) Wittrock, Cold Springs, KY; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Daniel T. Daniel, Sherwood Daniel and a sister, Miriam Brems.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 209 S. Spring St., Hartford City with Father Dave Newton presiding. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Friday, November 25 and 9:00-10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 26 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City.
A Christian Wake Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
