Phyllis A. Chaney

Phyllis A. Chaney, 80, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at her home with her family by her side.

Phyllis was born on October 11, 1936 in Delaware County to Luther and Pauline (Foster) Cox. She graduated from Harrison High School in 1954 and married Lloyd Chaney on June 6th of that year. Together they would raise their five children, living most of their lives in Blackford County.

Phyllis enjoyed yard work and being outdoors. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving family include her husband of 62 years, Lloyd Chaney, her children: Janette Milholland (Keith), Mary Battiste, Michelle Roush (Stan), Michael Chaney (Kim), former son-in-law Charles Atkinson, a brother, Les Cox (Cheree), fourteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her daughter, Janelle Atkinson, her son, Lloyd Francis Chaney, Jr. and a brother, Charles Cox.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, October 21, 2016 at Waters Funeral Home 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City. Burial will follow at Hartford City Cemetery.

Visitation for friends and family will be at the funeral home on Thursday, October 20, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and one hour prior to services Friday.
