LINTON, IN—
Norma K. Nettleton, 83, formerly of Converse, passed away Tuesday morning, April 6, 2021 at her second home, in Linton, Indiana.
Born June 20, 1937 in Tipton County, she was one of four children of the late Edward and Bonnie (Cox) Slater and graduated from Swayzee High School, class of 1955.
On September 21, 1957 she married Charles W. Nettleton. They celebrated fifty-two years of marriage, prior to his passing March 1, 2010.
A member of the Greentown Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, Norma was an avid Colts fan, as well as NASCAR. She enjoyed mushroom hunting in the springtime. She loved cooking and playing bingo and enjoyed being an aide on the special needs bus, for the Oak Hill School system.
She leaves behind two sons: Charles A. (Nancy) Nettleton of Linton and Terry L. (Carla) Nettleton of Converse. Grandkids: Brittany Nettleton (fiancé Daniel Bowman), Converse; Chase Nettleton, North Judson; Angie Sands, Markle; Larry Pence, Amboy; Meggan (Tyler) Planck. Great-grandsons: Blake Pence and Austin Sands. Her sister-in-law: Liz Slater. Nephews & nieces: Mark Slater, Gina Slater, Rhonda Dryer, Vicki Dryer, Greg Dryer and Rick Dryer.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters: Betty Shields and Beulah Dryer and one brother, Donnie Slater.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 12, 2021, in the Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main St., Greentown, with Pastor Charles Barker presiding. Burial immediately follows the service at the Converse Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chase Nettleton, Mark Slater, Greg Dryer, Larry Pence, Daniel Bowman and Kent Shields.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, prior to the service at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home in Greentown, where Eastern Star services will begin at 1:00 p.m.
