Mary (Donathan) Thornburgh

TRENTON, IN—

Mary (Donathan) Thornburgh, 68, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at The Waters of Hartford City, after a long battle with cancer

She was born in Portland, Indiana, on October 11, 1955 the daughter of Fred A. and Norma G. (Brown) Donathan and was a 1974 graduate of Blackford High School.

She married Theldon “Bud” Thornburgh on January 18, 1974 and made her home in Trenton for nearly forty years. 

Mary enjoyed gardening, flowers, watching hummingbirds and completing puzzles.  Her devotion to her family and grandchildren was always her priority.

Her family she leaves behind include her son Shane (Brooke) Thornburgh; her daughter, Jamie Heath; four grandchildren:  Avery (Brittany) Thornburgh, Gabriel Heath, Madison (Ben Hunter) Heath and Theldon Thornburgh.  She also is survived by a brother, Wayne (Cindy) Donathan; a sister, Carolyn (Steve) Gearheart and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, her husband of forty-five years, Theldon “Bud” Thornburgh, passed away on Oct. 29, 2019.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024 at Waters Funeral Home, Hartford City, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.  Burial will take place following visitation, at Eaton Union Cemetery.
