Mary B. Crostic

MARY B. CROSTIC HARTFORD CITY, IN Mary B. Crostic, 88, passed away Tuesday morning, September 22, at her residence. The daughter of J.C. and Rosa (Grubb) Jones, she was born August 24, 1921 in Tazewell, Virginia. She graduated from Tazewell High School and attended Business College in Blue Field, Virginia. Mary had resided in Hartford City for the past 20 years, moving here from Warrenton, North Carolina. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and a former member of Blackford County Hospital Auxiliary. Survivors include: a son, Gene (Sheila) Meadows, Hartford City; a brother, J. C. Jones, Jr., Tazewell, VA; 2 grandchildren, Brad Thurston, Nashville, TN and Heather (David) Melton, Eaton; 3 great-grandchildren, Zachary, Logan and Charlie Melton. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Helen Harmon. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 2009 in the Hartford City Cemetery, State Road 26 East, with Rev. Lloyd Hall officiating. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Waters Funeral Home, Hartford City.
