Marilyn J. Scott

Warren, IN Marilyn J. Scott, 82, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Heritage Pointe, Warren.

She resided in Hartford City most of her life and was Salutatorian for the Hartford City High School Class in 1952. She married Hugh R. Scott in Hartford City on April 20, 1968.

Marilyn had worked as a secretary for Overhead Door in Hartford City and Dallas, Texas and retired from Hartford Concrete Products, Hartford City.

A member of Zion Lutheran Church since 1948, she had played the organ, sang in the church choir and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church Women, serving as a delegate to the National Conference.

Marilyn had a passion for traveling and had been to all 50 states and several foreign countries. She enjoyed music, needlework and playing bridge. She was also a member of Wit and Wisdom Club.

Survivors include a sister, Lois Deskewies, Burns, Tennessee, several nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law, Allan Scott, Hartford City.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary L. Blankenbeker, her husband, Hugh R. Scott, a brother, Raymond Blankenbeker.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2016 in Zion Lutheran Church, 308 S. Monroe St. Hartford City with Pastor David Fleener presiding. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery.

Friends may call at Zion Lutheran Church from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Monday, November 7.
