Hartford City
Margaret B. Delporte, 96, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Bridgewater Center, Hartford City.
She was born on October 28, 1920 in Medina, Ohio to William and Henrietta (Vossberg) Wunderlin and was a 1940 graduate of Hartford City High School.
Margaret resided in Hartford City most of her life and enjoyed being outdoors including gardening and camping. She loved bowling and also enjoyed everyone who came to her kitchen door for a visit, which usually involved a pot of coffee or breaking-out-the-beer, depending on the time of day.
In addition to keeping the family home, she also had worked for Northside Greenhouse of Hartford City as well as Davis Brothers and Harrison Greenhouses.
She leaves behind two sons: Butch Delporte (Joan) and Richard "Dick" Delporte (Debbie) all of Hartford City. Eight grandchildren; Tia Kirk (Stephen) of Acworth, GA, Michelle Delporte (Stephen) of Muncie, Ron Delporte (Karen), Muncie, Derek Delporte (Kris) and Dustin Delporte, both of Hartford City, Phillip Delporte of Muncie, Daniel Delporte (Lacey), Florida and Autumn Wert of Muncie. Several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman H. Delporte in 1966; brothers: Frank and Jospeh Wunderlin
Graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2017 at Union Cemetery, 16301 N. State Road 3, Eaton.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Monday, July 31 at Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City.
