MARJORIE LOIS SIMS

HARTFORD CITY, INDIANA Marjorie Lois Sims, 93, passed away Tuesday, March 15 at Miller’s Merry Manor. She was born November 8, 1917 to Clifford and Henrietta (Tappy) Risley. Sr. in Wells County. She graduated from Hartford City High School and married Orval “Bud” Sims in Hartford City on December 25, 1937. His death occurred June 21, 1998. Marjorie was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, a charter member of Rho Chapter of Omega Nu Tau Sorority, Business & Professional Women, Research Club and several other clubs. She had worked at Fort Wayne Corrugated, 3-M and Manpower. Survivors include: son, Mark (Menena) Sims, Hartford City; grandchildren, Leslie (Brent)Van Skyock, Portland, Megan Twibell (companion, Allen Speidel), Chris (Leslie) Smith, Aaron Smith (companion, Ashley Coleman), Brandi (Shane) Ehrhart, and Steven Sims, all of Hartford City; great-grandchildren, Cody Davis, Chelsea Davis, Jordan Daily, Jamie Twibell, Jared Twibell, Jaycee Twibell, Abby Speidel, Alyssa Smith, Evan Smith, Madison Smith, KayLee Sims and Briana Ehrhart; one brother, Clifford (Berniece) Risley, Jr., Thousand Oaks, CA. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Doran Sims in 2001, and a sister, Esther Hendricks. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 19 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 – 7 p.m. Friday and after noon on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
