M. Doris Julian, 98, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at IU Ball Memorial Hospital, after a recent illness.
Born in Coolidge, Texas on April 22, 1919 to Tom and Nancy (Smith) Sanders, she graduated from Delin High School, Delin, Texas in 1937 and was a graduate of Nielson Beauty College of Dallas, Texas.
Doris was a resident of Indiana since December 25, 1945. She married Dale Julian on December 28, 1968 in Hartford City. She retired in 1984 after 40 years of operating Doris' Beauty Shop.
A member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she was part of the Mary Martha Circle, she also belonged to AARP, Senior Citizens Club/Center of Hartford City, the Eaton Senior Citizens and the Timeless Treasures senior group.
She is survived by her step-daughters, Belinda (Richard) Weller of LaPorte, Menena (Mark) Sims of Hartford City; a step-son, Robert (Barbara) Julian of San Jose, CA; 5 step-grandchildren; Chad (Deb) Weller, Megan (Kenneth) Gimlin, Brandi Ehrhart, Steven Sims and Anna Julian; 6 step-great-grandchildren; Tyler Weller, Cody Weller, Kaylee Sims, Briana Ehrhart, Madison Gimlin and Mackenzie Gimlin and one step-great-great-granddaughter, Raelee Rohrs. Also surviving are two nieces; Janiece (Richard) Peterson and Betty (Fred) Masters; two nephews, Jeff (Maureen) Sanders and David (Mimi) Sanders, as well as several great nieces and great nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dale, March 23, 1989, her brother Ray Sanders and two sisters, Cecil Pollard and Lucille Cullins.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 5th, in the Waters Funeral Home 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City, with Rev. W. Lloyd Hall presiding. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory, Muncie.
Visitation will be on Sunday, June 4, 2017 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and an hour before the service on Monday at the funeral home.
