Lucille Ramey

Lucille E. Ramey, 102, of Heritage Pointe, Warren, left this earth to join our Lord and family on June 18, 2025

She was born on June 7, 1923 in St. Henry, Ohio, to the late Henry and Philomena (Kramer) Gelhaus. On August 24, 1946, she married Adrian D. Ramey at Precious Blood Church in Fort Wayne, IN.  He preceded her in death on August 12, 2009.

She attended schools in St. Henry, OH and graduated in 1941.  She was employed at General Electric in Fort Wayne, IN before moving to Hartford City, IN and becoming a homemaker.  She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hartford City and participated in volunteer groups.  In addition to being a devout Christian, Lucille was a loving mother and wife and dedicated her life to being the heart of her family.

Survivors include sons:  Dennis (Vicki) of Ossian, IN; Michael (Janis), Hartford City; Timothy (Marianne), Fairfax Station, VA; Gregory, Hartford City and daughter Beth (Jack) Norton, Hartford City.  Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son David Ramey in 1979, a grandson, Bryan Ramey in 1991, four brothers and three sisters.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2025 in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 209 S. Spring St., Hartford City.  Father Kevin Hurley will be the celebrant at the mass, with burial following at Eaton Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. before the mass, at the church, on Thursday.
