HARTFORD CITY, IN—
Lee Hess, Jr., 68, passed away Tuesday evening, June 23, 2020 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie.
Lee was born and raised in Hartford City, the only son of three children born to Lee Earl and Anna B. (Hall) Hess.
He retired from Gripco in 2006 after several years of employment and had previously worked for Premix of Hartford City and Indiana Glass of Dunkirk.
On December 27, 1988 he married Tina Hamilton in Hartford City. Lee had a passion for music, loved to ride his Harley and drive his Corvettes and was also the “Leader of the Hess Club”
He leaves behind his wife, Tina; three sons: Kevin Hess (Deborah Richardson), Casey (wife, Brooke) Hess and Hendrix (partner Wei) Hess; ten grandchildren: Kyle (Lindsay) Hess, Elizabeth (Kip) Hornbaker, Amber (Red) Batten, Brandon (Crystal) Hess, Austin (Keshia) Hess, Kole Hess, Trinity Hess, Gavin Newsome, Devyn Hess and Kyleigh Hess; fifteen great-grandchildren: Amalie McClain, Landen Hess, Breann DeCamp, Jayden DeCamp, Natalie Hornbaker, Jaycie Batten, Jezalynn Batten, Jessie Batten, Macie Hess, Cynthia Hess, Aubrey Hess, Ryker Hess, Sylis Hess, Mya Hess and Emma Hess. One great-great-grandson, Hudson McClain; Two sisters: Maggie (Robert) Tudor of Wells County and Carolyn (John) Reynolds of Craigville, his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Charles and Jane Hamilton as well as many cousins, nieces & nephews.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2020 at the Hartford City Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Thomas presiding and eulogy by his brother-in-law, John Reynolds. COVID-19 safeguards and practices are encouraged to those attending.
Viewing and visitation will be private for the family.
