Larry L. Arnold, 77, died on December 16, 2021 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
Larry was born in Portland, IN to Pauline Marie (Meyer) Arnold. He graduated from Hartford City High School in 1963, where he excelled at athletics, especially basketball. Larry attended Northwest Community College in Powell, Wyoming where he played basketball for the Trappers.
Since he was 13 years old, Larry could always be found at the Blackford Golf Club. He started as a caddy and later became the groundskeeper. Larry worked for 3M in Hartford for over 30 years, retiring in 2003.
Larry was always very supportive of youth sports. For years he refereed and coached both boys and girls basketball.
He is survived by his life-partner, Sharon Kemp; two daughters, Trista Kikendall (Ryan) and Dawn Arnold (Ryan Weber); bonus children: Julie Hall (Shane), Robert Kemp Jr. and Patrick Kemp (Mary Jo); two sisters: Bobbi Wells (Jim) and Debbie Kauffman; grandchildren: Brayton Myrick, Keeleigh Kikendall, Kade Kikendall, Karter Kikendall, Olivia Smith and Quentin Smith as well as several bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Marie Carpenter.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Waters Funeral Home 501 W Washington St., Hartford City with Pastor Phillip King officiating.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 21st and from 12:00 Noon until services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Waters Funeral Home.
Memorials may be directed to Waters Funeral Home to support Blackford High School Athletics in support of the boys golf team and youth basketball.
