L. Kathleen Ross

L. KATHLEEN ROSS HARTFORD CITY, IN L. Kathleen Ross, 83, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2009, in Blackford Community Hospital. The daughter of Paul and Thelma (Tatman) Jones, she was born March 26, 1926 in Blackford County and was a 1944 graduate of Roll High School. On February 22, 1947, she married Kenneth E. Ross in Hartford City. His death occurred on August 17, 2007. A homemaker, she was a member of the Roll United Methodist Church, Progressive Homemakers Extension Club, United Methodist Women and during World War II, she helped with the war effort by packing machine guns in Anderson. She also had been a cafeteria lady at the Washington Township School. Surviving are: one son, Brian (Mary) Ross, Hartford City; one sister, Clarice Ann Pierce, Hartford City; one brother, David (Sarah Lou) Jones, Hartford City; one granddaughter, Jessica Ross. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son, Gary Paul Ross. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 6 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City with Pastor Steve Landis officiating. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery. Friends may call at Waters Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, November 5 and after 1 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
