Kenny Joe Rench, 75, passed away unexpectedly in IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital on Thursday, December 1, 2016.
A life resident of Hartford City, he was born on August 10, 1941 to Kenneth and Ruth L. (Casterline) Rench. Kenny graduated from Hartford City High School in 1959 and married Lois Baker on August 8, 1961.
He was a mechanic for Norfolk & Southern Railway in Fort Wayne for 33 years, retiring in 2001.
Kenny was a member of the American Legion Post 159 and the Blackford Golf Club. An avid golfer he was proud of two times making a hole in one. He loved sports especially IU teams and the Atlanta Braves. Kenny was an avid fisherman, loved life and was always the life of the party.
Survivors include his wife, Lois; a son Kevin (Jane) Rench, South Milford; a daughter, Kelli (Marty) Rhodes, Indianapolis; a brother, Craig Rench, Marion; seven grandchildren, Meredith, Dustin, Olivia, Sian and Brian Rhodes and Alyson Wagoner and Erin Rench.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Bob Reid and John Rench.
A memorial visitation for Kenny will be held from 3-6 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St. Hartford City.
