Kenneth E. Borgenheimer, 89, passed away on May 23, 2026, at Waters Skilled Nursing Facility in Hartford City, IN. He was born to Robert and Alice Borgenheimer (Kniss) on May 6, 1937, in Duluth, Minnesota. He attended Duluth Denfeld High School and Duluth Business College. He married Phyllis G. Hendricks in Duluth, MN in 1959. She preceded him in death in December 16, 2024. Ken was employed by the Canadian National Railroad (Minneapolis, MN) until 1974 and worked for Pickands Mather (Cliffs) research lab (Hibbing. MN) from 1975 until retirement. Ken was a tough, matter of fact man who wasn’t afraid to tell you what was on his mind. He grew up poor, worked hard and achieved the American Dream. He will be greatly missed by his loving family.
Ken is survived by son Dan (Dr. Helen) Borgenheimer, Hartford City, IN; daughter Jennifer Borgenheimer, Buhl, MN; son John Borgenheimer, Buhl, MN; son Tim Borgenheimer, Hibbing, MN; son Tom (Jennifer) Borgenheimer, Knoxville, TN. Grandchildren: Sarah (Jeremy) Trant Montpelier, IN; Allison (Eric) Wendorf, Grand Rapids, MN; Dr. Laura (Kevin) Vater, Fishers, IN; Amy (Zachary) Mackey, Eveleth, MN; Nathan (Whitney) Borgenheimer Hartford City, IN; Anna Borgenheimer, Knoxville, TN and Jacob (Taelor) Borgenheimer Henning, MN. Great Grandchildren: Elizabeth Goerdt, Jace Goerdt, Asher Mackey, Charlotte Trant, Henry Trant, Caroline Trant, Maria Vater, Lincoln Borgenheimer and Lennon Borgenheimer.
A family celebration of life for Kenneth was held Saturday, May 30th.
