KYLE W. SMELSER

HARTFORD CITY, INDIANA Kyle W. Smelser, 26, died at 6:46 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2011 at I. U. Health Blackford Hospital. He was born August 6, 1984 in Muncie, the son of Darrell and Leanna (Smith) Smelser and was a life resident of Blackford County. A sweet and gentle man, he was well-loved by family and friends alike. He enjoyed playing guitar, studying history, hunting and guns, golfing and professional football, especially the Colts. Kyle is survived by his parents, Darrell and Leanna Smelser, Hartford City; a sister, Sarah Smelser, Hartford City; four uncles, Tom (Linda) Smelser, Jon (Leanna) Smith, Richard (Sherry) Smith and Gary Smith; six aunts, June (Ron) Storms, Betty (Wayne) Walston, Lois (Jerry) McIntire, Christine (Dave) Kilty, Patricia (Dave) Seymour and Kathy Smith; also several cousins and a close friend, Ryan Carney. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James A. and Naomi Smith and Albert and Martha Smelser, and an uncle, Dale Smith. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, July 1 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City with Pastor Ron Storms presiding. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery, Muncie. Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, June 30 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Fund, American Cancer Fund or to the family.
