HARTFORD CITY, IN
June H. Edgington, 90, a lifelong resident of Blackford County, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at her residence.
She was born in Blackford County on June 22, 1925 to R. Fernley and Iona (Inman) Barr and married LaRoy Edgington, Jr. on December 3, 1949. He passed away on March 22, 2003.
As a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Naomi Circle, June had taught the kindergarten class and was a founding member of the Salad-a-Rama committee. She also was a member of Merry Maids Home Demonstration Club in Jackson Township for over 50 years and was a poll worker. June had worked as a telephone operator for Indiana Bell prior to her marriage.
Surviving are: two daughters, Susan Dietz and Pamela Wisecup; one son, Bruce (Jennifer) Edgington; five grandchildren, Kara (Matt) Danskin, Erika (Tim) Dornseif, Brian Dietz (fiancee' Kara), Madison (Sam) Moore, Megan Fort and four great-grandchildren, Jessica, Madison, Cormack and Kullen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sisters, Marie Davis, Betty Hopkins, Kathryn Cunningham, Kathryn's twin, Kathleen who died as an infant, and June's twin sister, Jean Dunica.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 24 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St. Hartford City with Rev. Dr. Gary Hall and Rev. John Parks officiating. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Monday, May 23 and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
