HARTFORD CITY, IN--
Jon Mark Cope, 70, of Hartford City, passed away on December 2nd, 2020. ‘Mark’ was born in 1950 and was a lifelong resident. He attended Hartford City High and then went to Ball State University, graduating with a BS in Education / Teaching. After graduation he taught at Eastbrook High School and Ivy Tech College.
Mark was an exceptionally skilled wood worker, in fine furniture as well as light construction. He started two successful business, Marco Custom Wood Products and Group T.W.O. Furnishings. After selling them he was employed by Hartford City Foam for 15 years, as their plant engineer, where he made a significant contribution to their growth and success.
In 1985 Mark married Pat, the love of his life. They enjoyed traveling, music, and the camaraderie of Put-in-Bay, OH. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Berniece, younger brother Brian, Heidi Price and granddaughter Victoria Seats. Surviving are his wife Pat, Denise Seats, Cory and Cody Seats, Fallon and Landon Price and Mariah Polen; Brother Doug (Judy), their children Matthew (Janice), Angie (Kyle) Kindler and Tim (Marissa). Grandchildren Annabella, Amelia, Hunter and Everett.
Mark’s family will celebrate his life at a later date. Private arrangements are entrusted to the Waters Funeral Home of Hartford City.
