Joan Lytle Obituary

HARTFORD CITY, IN-   Joan B. Lytle, 71, passed away Wednesday at her home after a long illness.

   Born and raised in Hartford City, she was one of six children born to the now late Joseph Calvin and Freda B. (Ginn) Lytle. 

   Joan married Arthur Blockson in Alexandria on August 2, 1986. His passing occurred November 29, 2003.   After his passing, Joan was well known at Casey’s General Store in Hartford City, where she made pizzas for many families in the community.

   She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also had her favorite past-time of facebooking and electronic gaming.  Joan liked to go dancing and held a love and appreciation for classic rock music.

   She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Jennifer R. Logan of Hartford City; her son, Jerry Wayne (Amanda) Logan, Jr. of Montpelier.  Six grandchildren:  Darian (Craige) Jarvis, Makayla (Jice) Kral, Haylee (Tristan) Townsend, Jaycee Logan (companion, Alex Ramirez), Jaiden Logan and Raegan Logan (companion, Austin Shoffner) and thirteen great-grandchildren.   She also leaves two sisters:  Linda Marie Ballenger of Huntington and Madeline Jane (Ben) Keeley of Gaston.  One brother, James Ray (Janet) Lytle of Hartford City as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

   In addition to her husband, her father passed away June 9, 1983, her mother on February 24, 1995.  Two brothers, Jackie Wayne Lytle and Jerry Lee Lytle, a sister Jean Eccelston and a great-grandchild have also preceded her in passing.

   Services are at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 30, 2025 in the Waters Funeral Home, Hartford City, with Pastor Troy Kaufman presiding.  Burial follows at the Hartford City Cemetery.

   Visitation for friends and family will be from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, prior to the funeral.
