HARTFORD CITY, IN—
Jay T. Dawson, 61, passed away peacefully, late Monday morning, August 3, 2020 at his home, after a long battle with the disease, Porphyria.
He was born in Huntington, Indiana on January 27, 1959, the seventh of ten children, born to Lloyd “Al” Dawson and Margaret “Maggie” [Lautzenheiser] Dawson. He spent the first year of his life in California, moving back to Indiana as a child, to spend the rest of his life in this area.
Jay was a ‘hands-on’ guy, being able to fix most anything, from home improvement to auto mechanics. NASCAR was his favorite sport and was a loyal Mark Martin supporter. He worked many years for the Utility Locating service in this area. His best and proudest job was being a Dad.
He leaves behind four sons and a daughter: Justin Dawson, Josh (Jennifer) Dawson, Jeremy (Brittany) Dawson, Jamie Dawson and Brooklyn Dawson; five sisters: Linda Briles (Steve), Donna (Pat) Norton, Sandra (Randy) Leer, Carma (Mike) Reidy and Anita (Gary) Langdon; four brothers: Steve Dawson, Mark (Pradit) Dawson, Tim Dawson and Jeff (Thui)Dawson; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
