HELEN E. HODGES

HARTFORD CITY, IN Helen Elizabeth Hodges, 95, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at her home. The daughter of John S. and Ann Crawford, she was born February 7, 1916 in Ludington, Michigan. She graduated from St. Francis Nursing School in Evanston, Illinois and worked as a private duty nurse. On August 11, 1939, she married F. Robert Hodges. A resident of Hartford City since 1966, Helen was active in the community, was manager of Sinclair Glass Store, and was a member of Psi Iota Xi Sorority, Alpha Mu Chapter. Survivors include: four sons, Fredrick Robert Hodges, Jr., Chicago, Lee S. Hodges, Sun City, Arizona, William F. Hodges, Fulton, Texas, and David C. Hodges, Hartford City; one daughter, Joyce A. Busscher, Golf, Illinois; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one grandchild, a brother, Jack Crawford and sister, Hazel Crawford. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. August 9 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City with Father Keith Hosey officiating. Entombment will follow at Gardens of Memory, Muncie. Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 8 at the funeral home.
