Geraldine E. Clements Vannatter

GERALDINE E. (CLEMENTS) VANNATTER NEW CASTLE, IN Geraldine E.(Clements) Vannatter, 83, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2009 in Glen Oaks Health Campus, New Castle. The daughter of Herb and Bernice (Street) Needler, she was born June 21, 1925 in Hartford City. Gerri graduated from Hartford City High School in 1943 and married Robert Clements on July 21, 1946 in Hartford City. After his death on December 2, 1998, she married Leon Vannatter on October 23, 1999 in New Castle. She had resided in Fort Wayne, Bowling Green, Ohio, Hartford City and in New Castle since 1978. Gerri was a member of the Presbyterian Church, New Castle and had been a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Hartford City. She belonged to PEO and Tri Kappa Sorority. Surviving are: her husband, Leon, New Castle; a son, Dr. Robert Clements, Greenfield; a daughter, Candy Clements, Reno, Nevada; 2 grandchildren, Ryan and Allison Clements; and a great-grandchild, Baylie Clements. She was preceded in death by her first husband and 2 brothers, Richard and Jerry Lee Needler. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 13 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City with Rev. Robert Shaeffer officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Etna Cemetery, Huntington County. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 12 and one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
