GRACE ELLEN HAWK

Montpelier, Indiana Grace Ellen Hawk, 103, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Hartford City. She was born February 20, 1908 in Ohio, the daughter of Franklin and Mary (Ellison) Fetty and had resided in Montpelier most of her life. Her marriage to Orval William Hawk occurred on August 30, 1923. He died October 23, 1976. A homemaker, she had also worked at Montpelier Glove Factory for 35 years, retiring in 1971. Grace was a member of Blackford Baptist Temple. Surviving are: 2 sons, Bill (Joyce) Hawk, Dick Hawk; 19 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 32 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 4 sons, Gene, Gerald, Ronnie, and Robert Orval Hawk, 2 grandchildren, Lori and Terri Hawk, 2 great-grandchildren, Sean Edwards and Scotty Minnick. The last member of her family, she was also preceded in death by 14 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 8 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Montpelier. Friends may call at Waters Funeral Home from 9 – 11 a.m. Saturday.
