Floyd K. Elliott, 100, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016 in Heritage Pointe, Warren. He was born in Hartford City on January 23, 1916 to Ralph and Icie (Kessler) Elliott. He graduated from Hartford City High School. Floyd married Martha Louise Banter on July 19, 1937 in Hartford City. He served in the US Navy from 1944-45 aboard a submarine chaser. Mr. Elliott was a letter carrier for the Hartford City Post Office for many years retiring in 1976. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post #159 and Amvets #23 all in Hartford City. Floyd enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include: one daughter, Nancy (Roger) Falk, Roll; one son, Dallas (Laura) Elliott, Wilmington, NC; five grandchildren, Jodie (Falk) Labordus, White House, Ohio, Todd Falk, Fishers, Indiana, Lance Falk, Montpelier, Andrew Elliott, New Jersey and Lindsey (Elliott) Hosford, Wilmington, North Carolina. Also surviving are 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Martha, two brothers, Qwen “Speed” Elliott and A. O. “Speck” Elliott and two sisters, Icie Drayer and Ruth Rea. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2016 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City with Rev. Todd Falk officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, Muncie. Friends may call at Waters Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 22 prior to the funeral.
