HARTFORD CITY, IN Ellen was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where she was involved in the Altar and Rosary Society and the church-affiliated “New to You” second-hand shop. Ellen was a Charter Member of the Blackford Community Hospital Volunteer Association (Ladies in Pink) and a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary, 3M Retirees and 3M Club. Ellen always found time for others and would go out of her way to cheer someone up. Her laugh was infectious, and her smile and beautiful blue eyes made her stand out from all others. She was truly a joy to be around and will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph J. Dornberger, Sr. and Clara A. Dornberger; her son, Timothy E. Turney; and her brother, Leonard J. Dornberger, Sr. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 24 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 209 S. Spring St., Hartford City with Father Dave Newton as celebrant. Burial will be in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Washington, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, memorial s may be made to Family Hospice & Palliative Care, 265 W. Water St., Berne, IN 46711.
