Dana O. Vance

DANA O. VANCE HARTFORD CITY, IN Dana O. Vance, 55, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Renaissance Rehabilitation, Muncie. The son of John Clay and Sarah Frances (Humphrey) Vance, he was born October 13, 1953 in Paris, Kentucky. Dana was raised in Kentucky and had lived in Hartford City the past 26 years. He married Arlene Taylor on June 20, 1992 in Hartford City. Dana worked as a mechanic at Sam Pierce Chevrolet, Muncie, retiring because of ill health. He enjoyed working on cars both at work and at home. Surviving are: his wife, Arlene; a son, Jason (Cynthia) Taylor, Smithville, TN; a brother, Rickey Carson, KY; a sister, Christina (Darrin) Stevens, Paris, KY; and a half-sister, Judy McFarland, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 3 at Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City. Cremation will follow the service. Friends may call at Waters Funeral Home from 12-2 p.m. Saturday, October 3. Memorials may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
