Clarence Robert Atkinson

Clarence Robert Atkinson, 92, passed away Sunday afternoon in Glasgow, Ky in the comfort of his own home, after an extended illness.

Born in Muncie, Indiana on July 23, 1929, he was the son of Addison and Grace Rosely (Enyart) Atkinson.

His wife of over seventy-one years, Betty Ilene (Markin) Atkinson, passed away April 24th of this year.

He leaves behind one son, Dennis (wife, Lynne) Atkinson; his daughter, Dawn Short; six grandchildren:  Nathanial Atkinson, Mariah Atkinson, Rob Short, and Hannah Danielle (Dalton) Edwards; Jessica (Jason) Bradley and Michelle (Richard) Anthony; great-grandchildren:  Jzeckha, Blake, Kaiye, Summer, Ivy Rayne, Molly, Tess, Jarrett, Javen & Joshua as well as many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Christine Bryant.

In addition to his wife and parents preceding him in death, Clarence was the last remaining of his siblings:  Johnny & Lorene (Bryant) Maple, Avery Bryant, Gene Bryant, Marvin “Buddy” and Judy Bryant and also Jim Koontz.

Services will be held at 12:00 noon Friday, October 1, 2021 in the Waters Funeral Home with Minister Donald Watts presiding.  Burial follows in the Hartford City Cemetery with military graveside rites rendered by the Veterans Organization of Delaware County Color Guard & Firing Squad.

Pallbearers will be: Andy Watts, Rick Rigel, Jimmy Johnson, Ronnie Johnson, Nathanial Atkinson and Kaiye Parker.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 11:00 A.M. on Friday until service time at noon.
