Charles E. “Butch” Butcher

Charles E. “Butch” Butcher, 75, passed away Tuesday morning, April 23, 2024 at the Waters of Dunkirk, after a long illness.
Born in Muncie on August 15, 1948, he was the son of the late Albert N. and Mary Mae (Lawhorn) Butcher.
A life resident of the area, he married Linda Murrell on July 3, 1970, in Eaton, Indiana and had retired from St. Joe Container/Box USA in Hartford City, after many years of employment.
Butch was an avid collector of Coca-Cola memorabilia and also was a dog-lover.
In addition to his wife of nearly fifty-four years, Linda, he leaves behind his sister, Mary Ann Green of Hartford City, his black Laborador Retriever, Molly, as well as several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, many of whom reside in this area.
His father precedes him in death on June 6, 1994; his mother on May 7, 2004 and his step-sister, Alberta Miller on June 29, 2008.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27th in the Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City, with his nephew, Rev. David Murrell presiding. Burial follows, in the Greenlawn Cemetery, East of Hartford City.
Visitation will also be on Saturday, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., prior to services.
His wife and family would like to thank The Waters of Dunkirk, for the care and compassion they provided to Butch, over these past couple years.
