Carol M. (Werking) Vincent

Carol M. (Werking) Vincent, 65, of Marion, passed away Sunday morning in IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, after an extended illness.

She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Dr. Robert Werking and Ruth (Davis) Werking and graduated from Eastbrook High School.

Carol raised her children in Hartford City, where she worked as a produce manager.  She moved to Marion, recently, to be closer to her mother.

Carol was a loving mother, grandmother and daughter.  She was a skilled artist, exceptional gardener and excellent cook and baker.  She created several beautiful quilts, which showcased her ability to blend colors and patterns into eye-catching designs.  Carol showed love by sharing good food, good coffee and thoughtful gifts.

She is survived by her partner, Keith Cansler of Hartford City; two sons:  Adam Vincent (wife, Tamra) of Fishers and J.R. Vincent (partner Kim Presley) of Muncie.  Two granddaughters:  Ellie Vincent and Amani Garrett; one grandson, Landon Mansfield; her mother, Ruth Werking of Marion and a brother, Paul Werking (wife, Beth) of Grand Haven, MI.

Her father, Dr. Robert “Bob” Werking, precedes her in death.

Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 30th, in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City.  Private burial will be held by the family afterwards.

Visitation will commence after the service Thursday, beginning at 4:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
