HARTFORD CITY, IN—
Carol (Craven) Wiland, 83, passed away Thursday evening, March 4, 2021 at Bridgewater Centre, Hartford City.
Carol was born to Wilbert and Edna (Frazier) Craven on October 6, 1937 in Columbiana County, Ohio. She worked as a retail sales clerk for King’s and Val’s Department Stores in Muncie and Value City in Alliance, Ohio until her retirement.
She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, cooking, going to the casino and was an avid bowler and bird watcher. She will be sadly missed by many.
Surviving family include, two daughters: Cathy (Steve) Weschke, Hartford City, Pam Fancil, Alliance, Ohio; two sons: Scott (Patty) Wiland, Alliance, Ohio and Larry Wiland (Ronda), Huntington, IN; six grandchildren: Wendy (Chad) Sullivan, Hartford City, Travis Weschke (Misty Reid), Hartford City, Melia Turner, Huntington, Corey Wiland, Huntington, Kelly (Tony) Hudson, Alliance, OH. and Candace Pianka; great-grandchildren: Shelby Sullivan (fiancé Adrian Favor), Upland, Katie Studebaker (companion Kameron Clamme), Hartford City, Tyler Adams, Ft. Wayne, Kiara Moyer (companion Kaleb), Olivia Hudson, Landry Hudson, Keegan Hudson – all of Alliance, Ohio; Taylor Pianka, Maryah Hall, and Cody Horsey, all of Maryland and a great-great-grandson, Augustine Phillips, Ft. Wayne.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sons: David Otteson and Mark Wiland.
Carol requested no services to be held. Burial will be held privately at Highland Memorial Cemetery, Alliance, Ohio.
Waters Funeral Home 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City is handling arrangements.
