BRET ALLEN GILLAND

HARTFORD CITY, IN Bret Allen Gilland, 47, died unexpectedly Thursday, May 10, 2012 in Kokomo. He was born April 3, 1965 in Hartford City, the son of Charles and Evelyn (Arbuckle) Gilland. Bret was a 1984 graduate of Blackford High School and had resided in Hartford City most of his life until moving to Kokomo last July. He was employed by ECI of Yorktown and was a member of Sons of American Legion Post #159 and Sons of Amvets Post #23, both of Hartford City. Surviving are his parents, Chuck and Evelyn Gilland, Hartford City; a son, Jeffrey Gilland, Montpelier; a sister, Kimberly (Geoffery) Harlow, Hartford City; a niece, Kacey Harlow, Hartford City; Jeffrey’s mother, Shelly Gilland, Montpelier; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends may call at Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City from 2 – 4 p.m. Sunday, May 13. Private burial will be made in the Hartford City Cemetery. The family requests memorials to the donor’s favorite charity.
