Anna Jane Hamilton

Anna Jane (Cavanaugh) Hamilton, 77, of Bishopville, SC passed away Wednesday morning, December 24, 2025 in McLeod Hospice House.

She was born in Muncie, October 24, 1948, the daughter of the now late Clifford and Doris May (Boggs) Cavanaugh.  She grew up in Eaton, graduating from Eaton High School, class of 1966.

On May 27th of that year, she married Charles J. Hamilton, in Eaton.  Anna Jane continued her education, earning her Licensed Practical Nurse degree.  She retired from Ball Memorial Hospital, after over twenty years of employment, predominantly in the orthopedic unit.

She leaves her husband of fifty-nine years, Charles; two daughters:  Tina Hess and Carmen Thomas (Cliff McKee); one brother, Clifford (Jim) Cavanaugh; three grandchildren:  Amber (Adam) Smalley, Hendrix (Wei) Hess and Patrick Thomas.  Six great-grandchildren:  Wyatt, Annabelle, Charlotte, Audra, Carter and Cameron.  Several nieces and nephews, as well as her great-granddog, Max.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 5, 2026, in the Waters Funeral Home, with Rev Josh Fox of the Hartford City Wesleyan Church presiding.  Burial immediately follows in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Jan. 4th, from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. and an hour prior to services on Monday, at the funeral home.
