HARTFORD CITY, IN--
A.Doyne Schwarzkopf, 84, passed away Friday afternoon, June 2, 2023, at his home of natural causes.
Born in Logansport on May 14, 1939, he was one of five children of the late David P. and Geneva (Downhour) Schwarzkopf. He spent his formative years in Blackford County, graduating from Hartford City High School, class of 1957.
On May 31, 1958, he married Charlotte Huntzinger in the former E.U.B. Church now known as Trinity U.M. Church, in Hartford City.
Doyne was a faithful and long-time employee of Delco Remy, Anderson, IN, where he worked in the horn department and belonged to the U.A.W. Local #662. He retired July 1, 1997 and enjoyed many years of fishing with his buddies.
In addition to fishing, Doyne enjoyed gardening and traveling out-of-state to visit his family. He also attended Pleasant Grove Church, Shamrock Lakes.
He leaves behind his wife of sixty-five years, Charlotte; one daughter, Debra (Patrick) Taylor of Duncan, Oklahoma. Two sons: Chris (Kim) Schwarzkopf, Genesco, IL and Tracy Schwarzkopf of Hartford City. One brother, Donald (Carol) Schwarzkopf of Burlington, IN. Four granddaughters, four great-granddaughters, a great-grandson, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Martelle Todd and two brothers: Richard “Dick” Schwarzkopf and Daniel Schwarzkopf.
In accordance to Doyne’s wishes, all services are private. Wes Rediger will preside over services at Gardens of Memory, in Muncie on Thursday, June 8, 2023, prior to burial.
