He was born in Montpelier February 17, 1935 to William and Ilah (Sharp) Jackson. Mr. Jackson died when Walt was quite young, so Ilah's second husband, William Smith, was the only father Walt knew. He married Janice Perry in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on November 25, 1954. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church and had served as Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council # 1639. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Raymond Jackson. Friends may call at Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 5 and from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 6.
