Sue A. Lewellen, 82, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017 in AMG Specialty Hospital, Muncie.

Born on September 17, 1935 to Joseph A. and Charlotte A. (Casterline ) Stump, she graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1953 and obtained her bachelor and master degrees in Elementary Education from Ball State University. She taught for over 25 years at William Reed School retiring in 1997.

She married David L. Lewellen on June 19, 1955 in Dunkirk. He preceded her in death on August 1, 1990.

Sue was a faithful member of Grace United Methodist Church, Deborah Circle of United Methodist Women, active with Helen Lieber Preschool as well as Kids' Hope and helped with the Salad-a-Rama. She was a former member of Indiana State Teachers Association, Indiana State Retired Teachers Association, and bowled for many years in Tuesday Night Womens' Major League. She was also an avid bridge player with Tri Kappa Bridge-a-Rama.

She leaves behind three children: Ann (Randall) Willmann, Hartford City, Mark Lewellen, Hartford City, and Amy Smith, Zionsville; grandchildren, Joseph (Nicole) Willmann, Andrew (Kara) Willmann, Elizabeth (Jed) Puckett, Natalie (Jacob) Slusher, Noah and Charlotte Smith; great-grandchildren, Ava, Kyler, Hayden, Oliver, Brayden, Reagan, Carter and Amelia, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Sally, her brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Connie Stump.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017 in Grace United Methodist Church with Pastor Ron Branson and Rev. Lloyd Hall presiding. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, Muncie.

Friends may call at Waters Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from 3-8 p.m. and on Wednesday, December 27 from 9-10 a.m. in the church.
