He was born in Wells County August 3, 1926 to Wilford S. and Margaret (Beal) Oswalt and graduated from Hartford City High School in 1944. He married Mary E. Howard on September 30, 1944 and served in the Army during WW II in the European Theatre. After Mary died in 2002, Bob married Ruth (Wilson) Flatter and she survives. Bob was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church, Elks Lodge #625 and the American Legion #156, Montpelier. A Memorial Service will be at 7 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2015 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City with Brian Waters officiating. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
