HARTFORD CITY, IN—

Phyllis A. Strine, 84, passed away Sunday morning, December 6, 2020 at Miller's Merry Manor in Hartford City.

She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on November 17, 1936, the daughter of Morris Abbott and Marie (Conn) Abbott- Loring. Her formative years were in Brookville, IN where she graduated from Brookville High School in 1954 and belonged to the Brookville United Methodist Church.

Phyllis resided in Hartford City since high school, providing day care/child care for families here for thirty-five years.  She enjoyed going to the Hartford City Senior Citizens Center.

She leaves behind three daughters:  Beverly L. (Terry) Dickey of Hartford City, Sandra L. Tucker of Lafayette and Karen E. (James) Pierce, Hoopeston, IL; one brother, Dale (Mabel) Abbott, Ohio; five grandchildren:  Kevin Tucker, Roger Dickey (April), Ian Dickey (Cortney), Clint Dickey (Danielle) and Tyler Dickey (Megan), along with sixteen great-grandchildren.

Private graveside service and burial will be held at the Hartford City Cemetery, with her grandson, Roger Dickey presiding.
