MARY J. O'CONNELL DORNBERGER HARTFORD CITY, IN Mary Joanne O'Connell Dornberger, 83, passed away Monday, November 16, 2009 in Sarasota, Florida. She was born August 17, 1926 in Hartford City, the daughter of Charles R. and Anna (Claytor) O'Connell and attended Hartford City schools. A homemaker, she and her husband, Joseph, had resided in Virginia Beach, VA and moved to Florida in 1974. She was a member of the Church of the Incarnation, Sarasota. Surviving are: her husband, Joseph; a daughter, Roberta (husband, Gary) Wasmer, Newport New, VA; 2 sisters, Esther Thieme, New Haven, IN and Nedra Dustman, Fort Wayne; a granddaughter, Amanda Wasmer, Virginia Beach, Va. Mrs. Dornberger was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Barbara Ray. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 21 in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 209 S. Spring St., Hartford City, with Father Dave Newton as celebrant. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery. Friends may call at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church after 10 a.m. Saturday. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Waters Funeral Home. Memorials may be made in the form of masses to the church.
