She was born in Marion on February 2, 1971 to Everett S. and Janet E. (Wright) Howard. Mari graduated from Blackford High School in 1989, where she excelled in Track & Field and held school records for shot-put and discus, one of which still stands today. She also graduated from Taylor University in 1994, with a Bachelor's Degree in science. While at Taylor she was on the girls track team and served on the coaching staff after graduation. She is survived by her mother, Janet Howard, Hartford City, her brother, Michael Howard, Upland, a niece, Elizabeth Klara Howard, Marion, a nephew, Michael Downam, Upland and special friends, Connie & David Murray, Daleville. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, October 17 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City with Rev. Lloyd Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Eaton.
