A native and life resident of Blackford County, she was born September 16, 1940 to Robert S. and Nellie L. (Day) Howell and graduated from Hartford City High School in 1958. She regularly attended the Class of 1958 monthly luncheons. Kay had been employed by National (Standard) Food Store, Hartford Novelty, Indiana Box, DeWitt Laundry, Sinclair Glass, Bluffton Rubber and most recently, Keihin Manufacturing, Muncie. Kay is survived by one son, Jerry L. Shellenbarger, Jr., Hartford City and several cousins including Charles Babbitt, Portland. She was born November 30, 1963 in Hartford City, the daughter of Jerry L. Shellenbarger, Sr. and M. Kay (Howell) Shellenbarger and graduated from Blackford High School in 1981. Lisa and her mother were long-time and faithful members of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, seldom missing church services. Kay had served as church treasurer and as secretary-treasurer of Sunday School. Friends may call from 9:00 to 11:00 prior to the service.
