Larry J. Berry, 71 of Hartford City, passed on Thursday, August 26th near Creede, Colorado, from injuries received from a motorcycle accident.
A native of Lebanon, Missouri, he was born to William Clarence and Rosalie (Young) Berry and took Geral C. Adkins as his wife, on February 15, 1969 in Carter County, Kentucky.
Residing and raising his family in Hartford City, Larry worker for Indiana Steel & Wire for nearly thirty years and had also worked at Indiana Box Corporation.
Larry never knew a stranger. Even if he didn't know their name, they weren't a stranger. His love of mechanics and anything mechanical drew people to him, and he to the people he met. His love of being a "nomad" led to his many travels throughout this country.
His love of family led to the most quality trait that any man could instill upon his children: "work hard, play hard and love your family more"
He leaves behind, four children: Tammy Ann Berry, Valery Federspiel, Larry W. (Alicia) Berry and Jeremy (Stacey) Berry. Eight grandchildren: Bill Berry, John Berry, Dylan Berry, Andre Berry, Rosalie Berry, Skye Berry, Delores Berry and Trinity Berry. Two great-grandchildren: Draven Berry & Dean Berry. He also leaves four sisters: Darlene (Larry) Winchester, Geraldine (Manford) Winchester, Marilyn Berry and Brenda (Junior) Winchester. One brother, Mike (Barbara) Berry as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, his wife of forty-five years precedes him into eternal rest on March 15, 2014, as well as a brother, Billy Rogers.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10, 2021 in the Waters Funeral Home 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City, with his son, Rev. Larry W. Berry presiding. Burial will follow in the Hartford City Cemetery, alongside his wife.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, Sept. 9th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Friday.
