Katie A. Strait, 73, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018, in IU Health Blackford Hospital, after an extended illness.

She was born in Delaware County on October 16, 1945, and was a life resident of the area.

Katie married Larry Dean Strait on June 22, 1962 and they raised their family in rural Blackford County. His unexpected death occurred on Oct. 29, 2007.

Survivors include her children, Jeff Strait (Aubrey), Tony Strait (Paula Duncan), Larry Strait (Jennifer) and Lori Parker (Pat); siblings, Michael Keith, Martha Funk, Carolyn Keith and Mel Sicks; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Harvey Keith, her husband and a brother, Robert Masters.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 20th in the Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City, with Pastor Thomas Parsons officiating. Burial will follow at Hartford City Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Thomas presiding.

Visitation will be Monday, November 19, 2018 at the funeral home from 5 - 8 p.m. and after 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
