June Holcombe, 92, of Hartford City, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at the IU Health Blackford Hospital in Hartford City. She was born on July 10, 1926 in Hartford City to Adam and Nellie Townsend.

June was a lifelong resident of Hartford City. She graduated from Hartford City High School and later worked as the manager of the local Hallmark store around the town square for many years. She was an active member of the Hartford City community and St. John's Catholic Church. In recent years, June greatly enjoyed her time with friends at the Blackford County Senior Citizens Center.

June is survived by her siblings, John (wife, Loretta) Townsend, of Boston, MA, Nedra Lips, of Hartford City, and Nellie Mae Schaffer, of Fort Wayne; her daughters, Sherry (husband, John) Barker, of Hartford City, and Amy (husband, Daniel) Fanning, of Upland; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Holcombe, son, Patrick Holcombe, daughter Holly Holcombe Bullard, six siblings (three brothers and three sisters), and grandsons, Brennan Fanning and Jayson Bullard.

Family and friends are invited to remember June at Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City, on Monday, August 6, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Tuesday, August 7, 2018, from 10 to 10:45 a.m.

A Christian Wake Service will be at 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, St. John's Catholic Church, 209 S. Spring St., Hartford City, with Father David J. Newton as Celebrant. Burial at the Hartford City Cemetery will follow the service.

Memorials may be made in the form of masses to St. John's Catholic Church, 209 S. Spring St., Hartford City, or to the Blackford County Senior Citizens Center, 101 S. Mill St., Hartford City.
